My family is the most important thing to me.  This group of sweet misfits are part of my nearest and dearest.    Most of us live far apart from one another, but we manage to see each other twice a year.   This year was a “Heaton” Christmas so many of them travelled down to Medicine Hat so that my parents could host and entertain this year during the holiday.   My father spends a lot of his free time tracing back our family tree and is very involved with his hobby of Genealogy.    He wanted nothing more than updated photos of everyone and perhaps even a photo of all of us together.   Unfortunately with me photographing 20 plus people there is no way that I could get my kids and I ready for a photo at the same time, so I decided that I would shoot all of our families separately    Then, using the same lighting, studio set and camera settings that I would make one very large streamlined photo of us all together.  Then it would look like we were all there at the studio at the same time.   So far it’s looking great.   I photograph my family, my brother’s family and my mom and dad .   Wish me luck.  I am so happy that I was able to do this for my family that has been such a support to me and my littles.

I see these kind of posts often where they start with “so sorry I haven’t been blogging” or “it’s been awhile since my last post”   , and *add eye roll here * I am finding myself doing the very same thing.    There were no personal New Years posts, birthday posts, or any posts of that nature. I was busy working and to tell you the truth putting off this post.   I was thinking maybe I wouldn’t post it all.but this blog has always been a sounding blog for the studio, so that I can share the studio experiences with my clients, friends and family.   If my kids were very sick or if we had a pet die I would have written it.    This one seems a little harder because for months and months I felt that I had failed, which everyday I am learning more and more is not the case.  Marty and I separated at the beginning of November .   Everyone is good and healing and with the beautiful weather coming I can not only see sunshine on Medicine Hat, but in my beautiful family and children.

That’s the end of the melancholy, there are bigger and better things in this world to concentrate on, and this attitude is not only new mantra in my life, but its let me settle down and realize what’s important.   My kids, creating awesome experiences and creating wonderful keepsakes.

Hockey is Canada’s most prevalent sport. It has emerged from other countries that hockey is  characteristically Canadian.  This sport is brought into communities all over Canada every year from young to old the sport goes on. If you are or were a hockey parent we can relate. This sport takes dedication and a huge time commitment to be a part of. My son now playing is second year of hockey, I find myself at the rink three times a week siting there freezing my butt off however, it does not bother me one bit. Once the kids are on the ice, it is so exciting  and cute to see them learning the game of hockey. It’s almost like all your cares and worries in life shut down for an hour as you watch your youngsters determination and strength at playing hockey. I have also found that hockey has now brought a stronger bond between my husband and son. Watching them together on the ice is something that no words can explain. Here are some photos that were taken of youngsters that have also found a new love “Hockey” in life!
